Although this time in a woman’s life is a natural progression that happens to all women, it doesn’t mean we are all the same and so a treatment plan should be bespoke to each woman, taking in to consideration her symptoms, her choices and her background health.

The Perimenopause

The perimenopause is the period in a woman’s life leading up to her last period. It can start for many women in their early 40s so can last up to 10 years in many women.

The Menopause

Officially, the menopause is defined as 12 months since your last period. This can be difficult to be identify if you don’t have periods due to a Mirena coil for example.

Non Hormonal & Hormonal Treatment Options

Some women choose Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) to manage their symptoms but some women don’t want prescribed medication or can’t take certain types of HRT. I will help you understand the safest and most effective type of HRT for you so you can make an informed decision about your treatment options.

Lifestyle & Wellbeing Options

As with all health issues, lifestyle choices and well being are an important part of the management of the perimenopause and menopause. We can explore and discuss nutrition, exercise and on hormonal treatments if desired.
